Frequently Asked Questions
Everything we're most commonly asked about old shed removal, dismantling and disposal.
How much does it cost to remove an old shed in your area?
Most single-shed jobs in your area fall between £90–£230 depending on size, condition and access. We always confirm a fixed price before any work starts — no hidden call-out or "final invoice" surprises.
Do you dismantle the shed or take it away whole?
Almost all sheds are dismantled panel-by-panel on site — this is quicker, safer for your garden and fences, and lets us fit the waste into the van far more efficiently than trying to lift a shed away intact.
What happens to the shed base in your area once it's removed?
We can leave the existing base in place, or — as an add-on — break it up and remove a concrete, slab or timber base so the area is left completely clear and ready for whatever comes next.
Do I need to empty the shed before you arrive?
It helps, but it isn't essential. We can clear out old contents, tools, paint tins and general garden clutter at the same time for an extra fee — just let us know when you book so we can quote accurately.
Is the old shed disposed of responsibly?
Yes. We're a registered waste carrier and take reusable timber to recycling where possible, with the rest sorted at a licensed waste transfer facility rather than going straight to landfill.
How quickly can someone come out to your area?
We regularly cover your area and the surrounding area, and can usually offer a slot within 3–5 working days — often sooner if it's a straightforward single shed.
Do you remove sheds with an asbestos roof?
Standard felt or timber-roofed sheds, yes. Older asbestos-cement roof sheets need a licensed asbestos removal specialist rather than a general waste team — tell us at quote stage and we'll point you the right way if that's the case.
Can you take away other garden waste at the same time?
Yes — fencing, old greenhouses, garden furniture, overgrown cuttings and general rubbish can usually be added to the same visit so you only pay for one call-out.
Do you need access through the house, or is a side gate enough?
A side gate or rear access is ideal and keeps things tidy, but we can work through the house if that's the only way in — just flag it when booking so we bring the right trolleys and protection for floors.
Is there a charge just for a quote?
No. Quotes from a couple of photos over email or WhatsApp are free, and an in-person site visit for larger or unusual jobs is also free with no obligation to book.
Do you offer same-day shed removal in your area?
Same-day slots do come up, usually from a cancellation, but we'd recommend booking a few days ahead to guarantee a specific date and time window.
What size sheds can you remove?
Everything from a small 4x3ft tool store up to large 12x16ft workshops and summer houses. If it's an unusually large structure, mention the rough dimensions when you enquire so we send the right size van and crew.
Do you also remove greenhouses and summer houses?
Yes — glass greenhouses, polycarbonate greenhouses, summer houses and log cabins are all removed using the same careful dismantling approach, with glass and metal separated out for recycling.
Is the price fixed once agreed, or can it change on the day?
We price from photos or a site visit and stick to that figure. The only time a price would change is if the shed turns out to be a genuinely different size or condition to what was described — and we'd always confirm that with you first.
Can I get a waste transfer note or proof of disposal?
Yes, a waste transfer note is available on request for your records, which is particularly useful if the removal is part of a house clearance, landlord job, or insurance claim.
Can you remove a shed that's partly collapsed or rotten?
Absolutely — a rotten, leaning or partially collapsed shed is often easier for us to break down, not harder. It's actually one of the most common jobs we get called out for.
Do I need to be home while the shed is removed?
Not necessarily, as long as we have agreed access (a gate code, key safe, or a neighbour letting us in) and the area is clear of pets. Plenty of customers arrange removal while they're at work.
Are you insured?
Yes, we carry public liability insurance for all removal and dismantling work, and we're a registered waste carrier for the disposal side.
What other areas near your area do you cover?
We cover your area as part of a wider service area — see the nearby towns listed on this page, or get in touch if your postcode isn't listed and we'll confirm coverage.
