What dismantling involves
Most single sheds come down in one to two hours: the roof comes off first to reduce weight and the risk of a panel twisting as it's removed, then the wall panels are unscrewed or unbolted at the corners rather than levered or smashed apart. Working in this order also protects anything built up against the shed — a fence line, a hedge, a neighbouring wall — since panels are lifted clear rather than pushed over. Any nails, screws and loose fixings left in the ground are cleared from the site before we finish.
Careful shed dismantling is the difference between a clean garden clearance and a damaged fence you're left to repair. Because we take the structure apart by hand rather than demolishing it, timber sheds, metal sheds and plastic sheds are all handled the same methodical way, and usable materials are separated for recycling instead of being crushed into one mixed load. Do you dismantle the shed or take it away whole?
Almost all sheds are dismantled panel-by-panel on site — this is quicker, safer for your garden and fences, and lets us fit the waste into the van far more efficiently than trying to lift a shed away intact.
Can you remove a shed that's partly collapsed or rotten?
Absolutely — a rotten, leaning or partially collapsed shed is often easier for us to break down, not harder. It's actually one of the most common jobs we get called out for.
Are you insured?
Yes, we carry public liability insurance for all removal and dismantling work, and we're a registered waste carrier for the disposal side.
Do you remove sheds with an asbestos roof?
Standard felt or timber-roofed sheds, yes. Older asbestos-cement roof sheets need a licensed asbestos removal specialist rather than a general waste team — tell us at quote stage and we'll point you the right way if that's the case.
