Remove Old Shed

Asbestos Shed Roof Guidance

Sheds built before the early 2000s sometimes have corrugated asbestos-cement roof sheets. This is a genuinely different job to a standard shed removal: asbestos removal in the UK requires specialist handling, and in many cases a licensed contractor, rather than a general waste removal team. We flag this at quote stage if photos show an asbestos-style roof, and can point you towards how to get it assessed properly.

Quick answer

We don't remove asbestos ourselves — this page explains why, and how to get it handled safely.

What's included

  • We identify likely asbestos-cement roofing from photos where possible
  • Standard felt/timber-roofed sheds are unaffected — most modern sheds are fine
  • Licensed asbestos removal is a separate, specialist job — not something a general waste team should attempt
  • We can still remove the rest of a shed once the roof has been safely dealt with

Asbestos Guidance — FAQ

Do you remove sheds with an asbestos roof?

Standard felt or timber-roofed sheds, yes. Older asbestos-cement roof sheets need a licensed asbestos removal specialist rather than a general waste team — tell us at quote stage and we'll point you the right way if that's the case.

Is there a charge just for a quote?

No. Quotes from a couple of photos over email or WhatsApp are free, and an in-person site visit for larger or unusual jobs is also free with no obligation to book.

Is the price fixed once agreed, or can it change on the day?

We price from photos or a site visit and stick to that figure. The only time a price would change is if the shed turns out to be a genuinely different size or condition to what was described — and we'd always confirm that with you first.

Is the old shed disposed of responsibly?

Yes. We're a registered waste carrier and take reusable timber to recycling where possible, with the rest sorted at a licensed waste transfer facility rather than going straight to landfill.
